Great pedals to use with KRNKY Pedal Straps

July 2nd, 2010 by tnts Respond

It’s not easy to find a pair of BMX platform pedals with wide enough holes on sides for the pedal straps. We’ve been using NS Bikes’ Pancakes and Demolition’s plastic pedals earlier ourselves, but now we found an interesting new option and bought a pair of NS Bikes’ Aerials. They come in multiple color options and with loose ball or sealed bearing. Money-men can choose the lighter pro model. Contact your LBS for these parts and us for the Pedal Straps.

May 29th, 2010 by tnts Respond

The corner stone of Finnish fixie community yksivaihde.net is celebrating its two year anniversary this weekend. KRNKY is proud to take part in the events with loads of prizes and of course we’ll be racing through Tampere ourselves.

If you are interested in Finnish fixie scene check out the Fixed Finland section on their site. There’s now a map of good places in Helsinki and other major cities will follow. And if you are coming to Helsinki or any other city in Finland and would like to meet some local riders, you can contact us or the webmaster of yksivaihde.net via email or register to Yksivaihde forums and place your questions there.

Belt Bag review

May 26th, 2010 by tnts Respond

Paulus from Hyötypyörä courier service helped us out with his ideas and professional views developing the Plus-model of the super popular Belt Bag Double. Now he wrote a review on his Facebook page:

Belt bag double plus.

First of all I´m not a fan of “vertical like” hip bags.

KRNKY hip bag was  a big surprise when I belted it on my hips, it felt invicible. Usually these type of hip bags have a tendency to drag and hang from the belt but Belt bag double plus is so stiff that it keeps its figure even with the U-lock hanging from the bags holster.

Looking from the bike messenger view the bag looks small but still can fit surprising amount of stuff in it and I´m the one who´s carrying loads of things on my waist. There´s a keyclip holder so you don´t have to dig deep for opening home door, couple of small extra pockets to separate things (phones, wallets, rubbish and so on) and even place to put your allen keys, spanners and such if you feel like going out without a bag and want to take your tools with you. Using the bag with one hand while riding is no problem.

The  U-lock goes in and out without a fight and when hanging from the holster it doesn´t feel like your carrying a lock.

So far the bag is seen only two big rains but I´m convinced that it´ll keep your thingies dry. Only thing I´m looking forward to is a clip from the bag to flap to keep hip bag closed after Velcro runs out.

Of course the time will tell how long does the material run. If it does a year it´ll be just fine.

KRNKY Pedal Straps – tie your shoes!

May 17th, 2010 by tnts Respond

We’ve been fighting to get these babies as good as they are now for so long time. Many different materials and designs were tested before getting the product to this final shape. And they feel great to pedal and roll over the shoes.

New products on the way

May 16th, 2010 by tnts Respond

The spring was only couple of days long here in Finland and after an eternal and epic winter, the summer is here! Polo season has started and we’ll be supporting Yksivahde.net’s, the Finnish fixie community’s 2 year birthday party events in Tampere in couple of weeks time. We also teamed up with our local independent cycle courier company Hyötypyörä. Paulus has tested our upcoming Belt Bag Double Plus and given his ideas for improvements.

We’ve been also busy sewing and shipping our old products as well as designing new ones. Straps, T’s,… You name it!  More info coming soon.
